SmileResults From Our Third Open A Trial

Well we went back today (sunday) and competed in our third open A trial. I thought she did a bit better today, but as we finished the groups they called out the qualifier numbers and didn't call ours... I thought she must have done something on the groups so I asked the steward on the way out of the ring. Turns out the judge just called the wrong number..lol we had a Q. Turns out we had another 195 and a 2nd place. The person we beat in the run off yesterday had a 197 today.
Amber went 3 straight in getting her title with scores of 197, 195, and 195. Not bad for my Novice A dog. I entered her three more days as back up, so I guess I should try and teach her a decent front and to practice heeling a bit more. Then I guess I have to train for Utility. I am going to have to get her used to people touching her and going over her, that is going to be the toughest thing for her.
Thanks for everyones support and advice. I have learned alot by paying attention to every thread on this board (obedience).

Congrats!!!! Her name just keeps on getting longer and longer. You need to register her in UKC and tackle those...then you can add all those titles to her front too!

I still remember talking to you way back when, when you first got Amber and your goal was to put a VSD on her...you are getting there!!!

    Thumbs up

That is great news and congratulations!!! You can always also work on the non-regular classes to keep you busy while you work on the Utility stuff like Graduate Open or Versatility which are now title classes. I agree that UKC would also be something else to do....though if there like where I live not too many shows in a year so takes awhile to complete a title.

Anyhow, very happy for you and fun to see how far you can go with a Novice A dog....I'm still with my Novice A also.
