    DefaultCool DOR game

We played this game in our Utility class the other night.

A tic-tac toe 'board' was taped off on the floor (Upon retrospect, it should have had a boundry box on the outside also). People were divided into two teams (in this case retrievers (and one honorary Airedale) and herding dogs). The goal was to play tic-tac toe and drop your dog in the square of your choosing. In the first game, we removed the dog, but kept track of who dropped where. In the second game, we placed a toy marking where the dogs had dropped (and boy you could tell those dogs who had been proofed against toys, they went relly wide of where they were supposed to). The dog was counted in the square if their elbows were in the square (to give the big dogs a fairer chance compared to the Shelties)

I'm confused on how this works.

Did you leave your dog, then call your dog and try to drop them on a square in the tic tac toe game?

    That would be challenging!!

Yup, like a traditional DOR, but you had to be pretty precise as to where they actually dropped. The toys really threw a loop in it because we proof pretty hard against even paying attention to a toy. We are playing this again next week and I think they are going to put open containers of food as square markers!
