WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't die in the ring, and Sam cooperated wonderfully, only looking interested at all the good smells, but not trying to get to them. I don't remember what all I said to him during our run, but my daughter said she heard me telling him "I have treats, I have treats!" LOL.
And not only did we qualify, we got FIRST! Made a 97. Lost our three points for a tight leash. I don't know if that meant three separate times or one?
The course wasn't bad, altho it meandered all over the ring, but I didn't get lost, and by the time we FINALLY got in there I wasn't really all that nervous. just ready to get it over with!
YAY for my good dog!!!!!!!!!!!!! That green ribbon is nice, but that BLUE one looks really good. ;D
Congratulations on the green and blue ribbons!!!

Congratulations Sam and Frances!* You obviously handled your ring nerves well - I hope Scout and I can do it as well.
I hope Sam continues to do well with Rally, and most importantly he stays healthy.*
Again, congrats - well done!

Congrats!!! That's great news. It's a great feeling when you go through it the first time and your dog does well. Hudler got a 96 his first official pass. There were tons of 100's that day, so all we did was qualify, but that was our only goal.
Do you have your next trial scoped out?????
Awesome!!! I'm so proud of you guys for doing this, despite the set back with Sam last week. What an acheivement! I know you will be looking so forward to going again and getting your Rally title.
And a FIRST place finish, EXCELLENT ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
No, not yet. I know I'm not going to do anything in December....just too much other stuff going on.
I bought the Steppin' Up to Success book (Terri Arnold) and I think I'm going to concentrate on working on his attention for the next month or so. she's got a good section in there on that I think. And I'm going to work on my footwork also, based on her book. And then probably in January we'll see if we can find some more shows and try for another leg!
AWESOME!* Congrats!* What a way to start your obedience career.* ;DThat would be 3 separate times.* It's 1 pt for a tight leash.* My guess is it happened on about turns or turns in general.* I see you ordered the Terri Arnold books.* They are wonderful and worth every penny.* Working on your footwork will help tremendously with the tight leash and just overall handling smoothness because your consistant footwork cues the dog as to what you will be doing next and helps prevent your partner from lagging (the usual cause for a tight leash).Originally Posted by Sam I Am
