    DefaultToday's Utility Trial

He was so on with his heeling.* Other than one bad sit, it actually "felt" good.* Stand was good.* Signaled him to drop and he came in .* My OTCh instructor said to turn my back on him if he did it again.* She was watching and said he had quite a puzzled look on his face.* Articles and gloves good.* Moving stand was ok--he walked a little when I left him BUT HE STAYED FOR THE EXAM ;D!* A first--no foot movement on the exam.* Progress! ;D* Go outs were the same of him running out and coming right back in. :P* As Linda said, it is all related.* My friend just keeps reminding me of the problems I had with the drop on recall when we began Open last summer. :* Judge again went on about how much he liked Caleb.* Well, at least the obedience judges like him!

I am learning that anytime a dog does better at a show than he has before it is a victory..So congatulations on a victory!! I can only hope someday to get to compete in Utility. I also learned that heeling is one of the most important exercises of Obedience and its also used to break ties. I am sure you two will do better next time and I love the stories of your trials and training.
