The biggest difference in UDX from the rest is scent discrimination and hand-signals. They all add on skills! I am sure someone can list what the specific expercises are...

To Earn a UDX a dog must qualify in both Open B and Utility B at 10 different shows

    from AKC

Section 1. Dogs That May Compete. UDX scores
will be recorded only for dogs that have earned Utility
Dog titles. Dogs who already have the UDX title may
continue to compete in Open B and Utility B.
To earn a Utility Dog Excellent title, the dog must
have received qualifying scores in both Open B and
Utility B at 10 separate licensed or member obedience
    trials.

This is probably a really stupid question, but here goes:

So, because you have to Q in Open B and Utility B, does this mean that an "A" class handler could not get a UDX? Do you understand what I'm asking? Because, you compete in A until you have titled a dog with that title, right?

Ohhh, wait: Does it mean that you have already earned a UD, so now you are competing in B for the UDX?

    Is that right? ???

Yes, it does mean that you have earned your UD and are now in Open B and Utility B competing for the UDX.

By the way there are no "stupid" questions! We were all newbies at one time or another and we all can learn something from someone else.
