... "Remembering to Breathe" by Willard Bailey!! ;D Can't wait to read it!!

Oh yes, where do you all order your leather leads?? Henery's 6ft nylon lead is too bulky to hold in one hand...

    Thanks, in advance! ;D

We got our ring leads at www.petsupplyhouse.com and they are Canadian! I am very happy with these leads. We don't train with such long leads though, just about a 2ft lead.

Personally I prefer the skinny cotton leads, much easier on your hands. I buy the black ones. I get them at PetSmart. They are about $8.00. I love them so much I wear them out.. .I've gone through three of them so far.

It was very interesting for me to read because I knew the people he was referring to (ie "the coven" ;D) and the places he was training, etc. I'll be curious to see if you find it as interesting.

I also got my lead at J & J Dog supply. I did find it to be really stiff when I first got it. I "worked" the leather for about a week straight, just twisting and turning it. Now I love it.

I got the very thin flat one. I don't even remember how much it was, but it is not bulky at all, and I can pretty well fit it all in my hand and make it to a a 3-4 ft lead for heeling. I worked mine for a day or so with an old towel and leather baseball glove conditioner. They do stretch out too, so just after about 2-3 years, you will need another one, as it won't be 6 ft anymore, but by then, it will be so soft you will love it!

    Hi sweetie Felicia!

Oh, listen, I am so excited for you, because this is going to open up a whole new array of shopping possibilities for Henery!

One of our instructors suggested this place for leather training leads:

    http://www.max200.com

It's true that you will want a shorter lead for showing. I think 3 feet seems to be a pretty good length. I have a 30" from max 200, but I think it's a little short for showing, because I can't really get a good "J" in the lead. But they are nice leather leads. I got braided, one black and one tan. I have used them tons in class.

Another little trick you may want to consider is a lead and collar that match Henry's color, so that they sort of blend in I just bought Angus a nylon show choke and 3 foot lead from J&J. I haven't been able to find one in ivory, so I got white. I am thinking about putting it in some coffee for a minute or two and see if I can turn it the same color as him.

Oh Lydia, that is TOO funny! You know "The Coven!" hahahaha!

My friend and I have both read the book, and elected our own Coven. It's funny how they are everywhere! They are JUST as he described them here. Same thing. :P

Felicia, you will really enjoy the book. I read it on vacation and enjoyed it so much. There are some great tips to be gleaned from it.
