Gorsebrook's Jackson Triggs, RNCL !!!!!!!!!* ;D ;D ;D
[The "CL" (or, if we had really kicked @ss, MCL) designates the average of the 3 qualifying legs... CL for an average of 180-189 and MCL for an average of 190-200. Ours was 184! Yes, it's a Canadian thing!]
I'm soooo proud of him!!* ;D
Our first run we NQ'ed because he didn't feel much like standing. This and the halt-90 degree pivot left-halt stations are our nemeses!! When I first asked him to stand, he rocked back on his haunches, sat up and waved coyly at the judge, who had to stifle a laugh. I was like* because he's never pulled one of those before!! We tried again, and the second time he stood, but I didn't get moving fast enough so he plopped his butt down again, NQ.
On our second run, I missed a station. Oops. Apparently I wasn't the only one, so I felt a bit better after that!! But, an otherwise clean run.*
By the time the third run came around, it was really getting hot and muggy, and I was sure that Henry's attention was shot. We had been there since 8:30 in the morning, but we attended a 2 1/2 hour seminar put on by one of the judges first (it was awesome!! picked up a ton of tips!) and the runs didn't start until noon. I figured, let's just do this, and then we can go home and have dinner!!
We step up to the start line. Henry looks up at me with that awful wicked monkey gleam in his eye, like he's plotting something....
Wow, did he ever surprise me. Eyes on me the entire time, heeling like a dream. He did cheatie-sneak around the last cone of a weave, which I caught, so we redid that station but that was it!!!* ;D
So now we're going to set our sights on AKC novice rally, until we can get some classes in for advanced.
We stayed to watch the advanced and excellent classes go.... WOW!!* My hats off to you all who compete at these levels!! Amazing!!
Oh, here is a pic of us with our final-leg judge!! We placed 3rd, with a score of 189!!
(Henry is looking at himself in the mirror! Told you he was a monkey!!!)
Way to go Herny...you too Felicia!!!
