And I think our heeling patterns are difficult at times. WOW, the heeling they make this dog do. I'm not sure where this show is, but that's some difficult heeling. I can't even see the handler giving any cues for a sit or stand... I mean how does the dog know when to execute which one ???
The sound is annoying in this and not needed. Enjoy.
watched it again. I think maybe she is giving verbal cues?
Looks like Singapore (S'pore?) I hope that's their utility equivalent.. very impressive! (and nice to see a schnauzer working so well! )
When Front and Finish ran the heeling patterns from Crufts, they were similar. I think we are about the only country that has the really simple "L" patterns. Even a lot of Canadian judges use "U's" "T's" etc. more than American judges.
UCDX GRCH Dunn's Marsh Caleb of Waltona UDX3, OM3, RAE Canadian UD, RE
FallRiver's Micah of Waltona GN RAE, Canadian CD, RN
my only heeling patern so far has been...
forward(across the front of the ring)-halt-forward-left-fast(down the right side of ring)-normal-left(across the back of the ring)-about turn-right-slow(down the center of the ring) normal-about turn-halt(stopping at the middle of the ring)
So we covered three sides of the ring and then the one leg down and 1/2 way back the middle of the ring.
Is this a normal novice pattern? whatis a simple L or T?

Wow. I can hear verbal cues (I think I was hearing "Down."), but good grief... that judge really put her through a work-out!
Did you see what that poor judge had to wear on her chest? That rosette was larger than most of the ones dog show competitors win around here! LOL

Wow, that's very impressive. Poor dog looks bored out of its mind, though.
Apart from the absence of hand signals for the drop and stand, this is very similar to what you can expect in heel patterns here, from Novice level (although the dogs standard was probably better than most Novice dogs :P ). Do you have a set pattern for heeling?? An L shape?
wow! impressive!! I will be lucky if I can get buck to do that for more than 1 min on a leash!!! LOL
