WE started back to advanced obedience class last night. Have only worked with her about 3 days in the last 2 months. She was really excited to "go to class", especially since the scary "obedience Nazi" instructor wasn't there. We ended up doing a couple of rally course set-ups, which was fine with me cuz I want to enter one soon with EMilu. I also worked on her recall, and she did great! She was also very good around all the other dogs. We met another lab who is in the conformation class - they sure do recognize a like-minded dog, don't they? I talked to the owner and the instructor quite a while after class ended. They assured me that EMilu was NOT TOO HEAVY (for conformation that is), even though one of the other obedience instructors made mention of her weight too. All in all - a nice way to ease back in
Sounds like you had a great class. Keep up the training. Emilu will be bringing home the ribbons in no time
I forgot to mention the best part (aside from the recalls) I had her get her dumbbell and hold it, and then asked one of the other members to try to gently take it from her. Emilu clamped down slightly and wouldn't give it to her - Yeah! Before she would give it to anybody who held their hand out - such a polite girl!
Sounds like she just needed a little break!
Glad to hear you are back and having a good time!
