    I do that and I have also done my palm coming down right in front of their face and then the sweep across for the wait/stay.

    Yeah, I use my left. Some people will use their right but you have to watch your upper body that you don't move it so much that it becomes another signal and you get marked off for it.

    Stationary stand (like Novice SFE): right hand open palm facing right in front of the dog's nose then moving forward away from the dog (this signal is different from stay because it is moving).

    Moving stand: left hand, open palm facing down moved forward in front of the dog's nose. Swipe left hand in front of the dog (palm facing dog) for the stand stay.
