What a day. It was a brilliant day for tracking, raining on and off and nice damp ground. Teddy had to track 800 meters, the track was aged about 40 min, she had to indicate two articles, take two turns and find the tracklayer, who had been lying in the rain.
Teddy's track was about half paddock, covered in prickles and burs and half bush. She did the first 650 meters faultlessly finding the two articles on the track and taking the two turns. At this stage I totally relaxed and enjoyed it, thinking it was a walk in the park, when all of a sudden Teddy picked up the scent of a roo or wallaby and charged off into the bush. After a mild panic wondering what to do I was able to work her back to the track and she did the last 150 meters and found the tracklayer. I was not expecting to pass so was suprised when the judge said pass and graded Teddy good (can be pass, good, very good or excellent). I am so happy with my little Ted.
Next time I will remember not to relax too much!
Congrats to you two! Sounds like a lot of fun!
