    DefaultOur Open B Debute

Well we were entered in Open B today at a very small trial that ended up taking all day. Well, he lost 2 points on heeling and for Open B that isn't a bad start. Let's see, oh, we did qualify on our ROF and our OOS. He didn't drop (I don't think he actually heard me), came around the high jump and stopped in front of the board. One of the OTCh handlers who has helped me work through some other things said she thinks there was a bitch in season close--his penis was hanging out the whole time. Everyone said he certainly seemed distracted and not himself. On the BJ, she also said that he actually launches out of the sit and slipped. So they had a run-thru afterwards and of course we staid. Did the HJ fine with out any hesitation, DOR was fine but we really had to work on the BJ to regain his confidence, but by the time we finished he seemed fine.

So, after today, it can only get better!!!! ;D

Just think how much better he'd do if he were neutered

Sounds like a good day though. You guys are brave going into Open B.

Interestingly enough another male dog was very interested in a female Setter that was waiting for Novice A begin. I wonder..........................

The couple I have been taking lessons from have kept their males intact as well and has worked with them to still focus on them in the ring. They would actually collect pads from females in season and set them all around the room and help the dog to work through it.

Of course, the pressure is on since we mailed our enteries to the Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P :

He did fine at the run-thru. I really had to work him on the BJ cause I guess he really did slide when he took off. But he does launch himself from that sit.....................
