The Obedience Club that I take classes from is sponsering an Agility Trial this Fri,Sat,and Sun. I have to go to a seminar for work Saturday, but I have Friday off, so I volunteered to help out in any way that I can. I've never even been to an agility trial (but I've seen them on TV :P), however, I told the volunteer director that I "take direction well". Should be a fun day!
You are so nice to volunteer. I have worked my butt off at trials. At the last one I showed in, I volunteered and was the "chute person" for all of the small dogs in Excellent (12 inches down to 6 inches) Half way through the hour or so, I realized I was the ONLY ring crew working. The other folks didn't even have to get off their chairs, nobody dropped bars, but I had to fix that danged chute after every run because of the wind. I got a real workout
Enjoy. It's a blast and you will learn a LOT by working
Oh Pat, have fun!!!

Have fun...I also volunteered for the chute my first time as part of a ring crew...never again..I'll do anything else but..LOL...you have to straighten it after every dog whether there is wind or not.
I can't stand doing any "ring jobs" (chute, bar setting, leash running). I much prefer being gate b!tch, timer, combiner or scribe
I hope you have fun at the trial!
