this isn't obedience.. but you mentioned in the picture thread to be sure my pic was at least 300dpi. Where do I find this information??? All I get when I click on my pictures is the pixel #.

Linda, most digital pictures are taken at 72 dpi no matter what the pixel count is. *This is plenty of dots-per-inch for our monitors. *When you plan on printing a picture it has to be at least 300 dpi. *Not sure about your editing program's resize capibility. *In PSE, you can change the resolution two ways. *1. *When I crop a picture, I have three boxes I can fill in; height, width, and resolution. *I always put in 300. *2. *If I'm not cropping the image, I can go to image, resize and change the resolution. *Hope this helps. *Just remember pixels and resolution are not the same thing. *The pixels tells the size of any image. *The resolution tells how many dots there are per inch in a image. *A picture that is 4x6 or 2400 pixels, can have a resolution of 72 or 300 dpi. *It just depends on what resolution you assign to it. *This is probably far from a technical explanation. *It's just the best my untechnical mind can do.

I don't have PSE. I have Paint Shop Pro. I don't see dpi. Can you tell me what the dpi is on the pic I posted of me and Ruger?

I'll have to down load it and check with my program. Your PSP program should have a resize ability. Look in the image area.

There's not somewhere in the editing program that says resolution?

The two pictures of you and Ruger were 72 dpi.* I figured that because they were just as they came of the camera.* I changed them to 300 dpi and resized them.* Feel free to use them if you need to.

Thanks. I don't have the program here at work any more. I'll have to look when I get home, but I don't remember ever seeing dpi. Maybe I never really looked.

If the magazine is going to make these pictures pretty small anyway, why would it matter in the long run?

It just does. The 72 dpi makes for a grainy picture.

Monnie, you are a wiz!!! So, that one of Caleb--would that work? Is that all ready set up correctly? I have not heard back from that lady so I do want something that I can send. Yet, in the letter they don't say anything about all that.
