Meet WindyCanyon's Kanzi RN. She turned 6 mos old on 9/20/14, and was entered in her first Rally trial on 9/26 under one of the toughest judges in the NW (gulp...). I was so proud of the little squirt (she is very slow to grow so only 45# and ~19" tall right now!) as she got a 98 for that run!!! Her 2nd Q was a 94, and last one was 89. She came home w/ 2nd, 3rd and 4th placements and of course, met a lot of new friends over the weekend while she was on the grounds. I really couldn't have expected more from her.
I would not have normally put a pup her age in the ring, but she was just born focused (and pretty darned calm to boot). I also don't know when I'll be able to compete again since I'm planning a spring litter or 2, so wanted to punch out the RN now. The carrot dangling in front of me for next June's local trials will have the letters RA and CD carved in them.... along w/ hopeful JH tests.
Anyhow, it was funny. I had her half Aunt Tango entered in Open A as well. I wasn't nervous at all about Tango.... but sure couldn't say the same for Kanzi! And no, Tango didn't Q either trial she ran in but we had a good time anyhow! She nailed her Broad Jump both days-- and that has been her nemesis, so I'm hoping we're finally past that. Anne
