I finally had my dog back in the ring - you know, that happy one that I used to have and disappeared about 2 years ago? We did another RAE leg, and while nothing changed that I am aware of, Emilu was perky, attentive and actually kept up with me in the ring! We got a 99 in ExB, unfortunately it was a large class and 4 dogs got 100's (those dang Goldens!) so we didn't even place - but I was pleased as punch with her. Then in AdB, I thought we did just as well, but when I check the score, we had a 90 - you know what that means - that means the human partner probably did a station wrong. I haven't screwed up a station since our Novice days, but when I talked to the judge - sure evnough - we had a call front, take 1,2,3 steps back and apparently I only took the 1 and 2 and missed the 3! I didn't even know it. I haven't had that sign in 28 rally shows! But I am very happy with my girl, and hopes this attitude remains. Who knows - maybe we can try Open again next year and have half a chance. Actually, we were "doing it for Duke" today. A good friends 17 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback was planning a move to the Rainbow Bridge today, and Emilu and I dedicated the show to him. Maybe she really understood ......
Pat how neat! That is wonderful! Sorry about your friends loosing their friends. But, so great to hear about your runs.
