    DefaultCourse Times

I'm really happy with Remington's course times. I know he was eliminated in these rounds, but it was due to dropped bars. Considering we also had a few off courses we worked through (which ate up seconds on the clock) these were outstanding times. Once we get him running the courses correctly and with more focus, he should get even faster.

Distance: 151 yards SCT: 77 seconds
    Eliminated Time: 60.84 seconds

Distance: 138 yards SCT: 71 seconds
    Eliminated Time: 56.25 seconds

Are these AKC courses (or am I reading this wrong)? Preferred or regular?

Looking at Fuji's Nov Std label from yesterday, that was a 131 yd course and SCT for 20" dogs was 63 sec. Her time was 47.67 only good for a 2nd (to a BC, lol).

Our run last Sunday was 154 yds, and SCT was 73. Her time was 58.88, not good enough for any placement but we had 2 R's due to run bys due to the new surfacing, I'm sure of it now... 90 score.

Jumpers are much faster. Mata's 20" Open run on Sat had a SCT of 41 (142 yrds), and her time was 33.58. Again only good for a 2nd. Damned BCs, lol.

    Yes, this was AKC.

I really don't worry much about placements, just want to Q. And actually if I do Q, I usually place as there aren't many running preferred in my area.

Ruger is usually over course time, especially since he is in Excellent now and 8 years old. Every once in a blue moon he'll make course time, but I realize he's just slowing down. I'm pretty much going with retirement for him, just running him here and there for fun and to keep him happy.

I've got to look up some of Peanut's and maybe you guys can tell me if she'd be able to be competitive in other venues (besides CPE). Her fastest to date was a jumper course (I think) that she flew through in 19 seconds.

Some of her fastest to date:

Standard course, 114 yards, SCT: 56
    Peanut's time: 36.47 for a Q

    Colors, 105 yards, SCT: 52
    Peanut's time: 20.12, Q

Her very fastest was another colors run, 69 yards, SCT: 41, she did it in 16.18, Q.

She doesn't look like she moves all that fast, but is she fast enough for the "tougher" organizations like AAC, do you think? She'd be jumping in 10" specials.

She's fast! You could certainly do more than CPE with her.
What kind of dog is she?

She's a Minpin, stands 14" at the shoulder.

She's getting faster and faster as she picks up confidence. She can run like a deer and if she ever really lets 'er rip on course she'll totally leave me in the dust.

Colors... basically they set up two courses, one is numbered with "blue" cones, the other with "red" cones (or any color). Before you run, at the start line, you tell the judge which color course you are running. They usually have a few obstacle discrimination pitfalls set up to pull you off your chosen color course.
