So, I bumped up Hoss into Open and Kodi into Utility (MY first time in UKC utility also) and went for the second leg in URO2 for both.
Hoss placed 2nd in Open with a 197, and a third in URO2. All of his points lost in Open were crooked fronts (and I thought he lagged awful on the fast, but apparently not as bad as I thought!). I was really hesitant to bump him up as his DOR is weak at best, but he did very well (traveled more than I would have liked, but did a sphinx down at least....he has a tendency to roll on a hip). Fortunately my throws were straight on the ROH, as off set retrieves are a current "project" (he looses confidence easily).
Kodi placed 2nd in Utility and 2nd in URO2. While I was confident that she COULD do it, I was a bit worried about the glove exercise, as we have only been doing it "glove" style (as opposed to bumper/field style) for a few weeks.
I will have to say that the judges were SPECTACULAR!!! Both had good senses of humor and went ABSOLUTELY out of their way to help competitors, answer questions, and make every one feel at ease (inexperienced stewards included).

All judges should be that way. We are all supposed to be in this for fun, including the judges. Some think they are testing us for some kind of military security clearance, I think!
