I have decided to start taking Remington with me to agility class and running him when I teach.
So, today was his first time at class. All in all he handled himself very well. He ran off once to go visit, but when he realized we were there to work he focused pretty well. He did fall in love with our little leash runner (a students niece, and she was a real cutie, lovely auburn hair done up in pigtail braids, Remington just loved her!)
I'm hoping by doing this we can re-create a "trial" atmosphere more for him so he won't be as overwhelmed at an actual trial. We set up the runs just like a trial, ran one dog at a time, made sure we got our leashes on at the end of the run, etc.
The entire class went well... all the students liked it and commented on how smoothly it went.
So, I guess my boy will be back in class next weekend too
Can't wait to get back to class!

Linda - Sounds like a good approach for Remington. Maybe it will help him focus on what you're asking him to do. As long as you are both having fun - that's the good part. B
