    DefaultZeke Brag

He finally earned his first Q...at the age of 8.

Zeke did better than he has in the past. Still some issues with him being distracted, but not as bad as before. No zoomies at least. He was slower than I would like, but at this point if I get him to full speed he goes haywire. We're operating at 50% power for now.

1st Run: Regular 1 - NQ he finished and ran clean, but he was...umm....17.81 seconds over time. Someone was being sniffy :

2nd Run: Regular 2 - ELIMINATED. He..um...leapt off the top of the A-frame (off the side of the apex, no less. Not down the ramp) to go visit the ring crew. He was totally not paying attention. I captured him and smuggled him off the field and back into his box (crate :P).

3rd: Jumpers 1 - ELIMINATED. He was a butt-hole and had to have a talking to on course. Once I threatened him with replacement, he ran OK. You'll probably hear him screeching in the video when I grabbed him...drama queen ("Let me gooo!! Let me gooo!!!!")

4th: Jumpers 2: Ran clean. 3rd place and a Q. You might hear some cheering for that. It was his 1st ever Q. He has a reputation....:P

5th: Tunnelers. Ran clean and at a good time. It wasn't a titling class though - just a fun run for that one.

Oh that is AWESOME! I'm so proud of Zeke, and you too. I'm so glad you decided to start back training with him. What a wonderful feeling that must have been today to get your first ever Q. Good job!

I'll check out the video's Monday at work... can't watch them at home on my dialup.

Thanks everyone! I wondered if he'd ever do it, haha.

AngusFangus: Note that I didn't video his first two runs of the day. He was much worse for those, though we did finish the 1st one. The 2nd was a total disaster (that's when he fell/leapt off the A-frame).

Wonderful videos! The trial site looks like a nice place.

Love your Q run. He seemed very focused most of the time (a few sniffies on the ground) and was very methodical in running the course. Good job.

Tunnellers looks like so much fun! I wish we had some of those shows around here. Remington would have a blast (or maybe a breakdown!!!) with all those tunnels in the ring

In the first video, there is no way you could have grabbed him like that and pulled him back to the start line in AKC. You would have been whistled off the course for "rough handling" and training in the ring. I doubt you could do that at USDAA either. ASCA must be much more relaxed on rules.
