    DefaultBad Bad BAD Remington

Another trial today, another tunnel-man Remington.

I'm about to throw in the towel with this dog. I don't know what to do.

At our next trial I'm not putting up with it. If he zones in on the tunnel I am going to do my very best to physically tackle him and pull him off it. I'll just smile sweetly at the judge as I grab him by the ears and say, "thank you" on my way off the course.

If he beats me to the tunnel and gets inside it, as soon as I can reach him, as he flounders around in there on his back, I am going to physically reach inside and grab his legs and pull him out, and smile sweetly as I say "thank-you" on my way off the course.

I don't know what else to do.

I'm disappointed in him. He CAN do these courses. It's infuriating. He got a leg last spring in Novice Standard, and he ran in our match faster and cleaner than a border collie.

    Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Bad Remington. I wish I had an inspiration for you, but I don't. Good luck.

You probably don't want to hear it took me 2 years to get Robbie through the novice classes..He made it to Excellent FAST pretty fast (pun intended) because we could avoid the weaves which was his nemisis..even at out last trial where he finally got his last novice leg he was blowing by them like he didn't even see them..He has been doing them much better in class recently so I am hoping it will translate to trials but I'm also not going to hold my breath...He will be 4 next friday (also the day of our next trial)..I have always said that he will be a great dog when he is 5 or 6..LOL..I guess I'm saying don't give up..he is still a young dog and you will eventually work through this.

Deb, I know exactly what you mean. I was telling someone today that maybe, just maybe, this will all come together for Remington when he's like... 8 years old, LOL!

I do get so frustrated, but I really do love him. He's too stinkin cute

    DefaultStudents that Beat Teacher....

Well, I'm very proud to announce that my students did FREAKIN FABULOUS today at the trial.

Our basset hound got 3 1st places and a 2nd place, and my other student that went (she has an all-american) got 2 2nds and a Q!!!

I reminded them today that "those who can do, those who can't teach" LOL. They reminded me that I CAN do it too

All in all a wonderful day for my group!!

Oh Remi! What's mom to do with you. I agree that you need to stop his behavior in the ring, even if you have to be excused. Good luck with that goog-ball!

Yep, I think that is the next course of action. I can see me dragging him out of the tunnel by his back legs... like birthing a cow! LOL!
