We had a really nice day today at USDAA trial. I could tell he was much more relaxed just being there. I kept him out of the crate a lot and did lots of massaging on him and letting him visit and just hang around.
We had our Standard course first. He ran so well, but he did have two off courses, he did get stuck in the tunnel but I got him out pretty quickly. He did the weaves, hit all his contacts too. I was so happy with him. No Q, no ribbon, but honestly I felt like I had an agility dog out there with me.
Then we had our Gamblers class. He racked up 24 points in the opening (you needed 18) and one of those was a tunnel that he ran right through with no problem at all. He didn't do the gamble, but I was over the moon. Again he got all his contacts that I asked of him. And he got a FIRST PLACE!!
He was so very proud of his ribbon. I was very proud of him today!
I think running with no expectations at all is the key. Just see what happens
