There is a question on the AKC official entry form between your telephone number and your E-mail address that asks "Are you a new exhibitor?" and has a "Yes" and a "No" box to check. Is this asking if you are a new exhibitor to AKC? a new exhibitor to the venue you are entering? (Tracking, Obedience, Etc..) or if you are a new exhibitor to the event/show?
Light, "weedy" individuals are definitely incorrect; equally objectionable are cloddy lumbering specimens. Labrador Retrievers shall be shown in working condition well-muscled and without excess fat. Females should weigh between 55 and 70lbs and Males between 65 and 80lbs. Height females 21.5 to 23.5 inches males 22.5 to 24.5 inches at the withers.

That's kind of a dumb question. What do they even mean by new? First time? 5th time? 100th time? Miles and I have been competing in various venues for a little over two years. Are we new? I consider myself a novice especially next to the many who have been doing this for most of their lives!
Also, I wonder what they plan to do with that information?

I believe it has something to do with the mentoring programs.
Kim hit it. It is about the mentoring programs. The only time I ever checked "yes" was entering my very first Conformation show- never after that, and it wasn't worth it the first time. It really doesn't matter for Performance events anyway as they rarely have an AKC Rep there conducting a New Exhibitor Meeting. Good luck, Kelly!
