I posted this in Labchat too.
Tiegan was nipped/bit by a beagle about 30 minutes ago. Trying to figure out what to do. We were in a big field and off in the corner by ourselves training and one of three beagles got loose from the owner and approached Tiegan. I took her off leash to avoid setting up confrontation. They were ok until the owner and his two other beagles approached and they started howling and it freaked Tiegan out so she was trying to leave and the first beagle nipped her.
So I am now going through my head what I should do, if I should go their house and ask them to provide documentation of vaccinations or what. Tiegan has a welt on the underside of her belly. I cleaned it w/ rubbing alcohol, but wondering what else I should do.
I'd probably go ahead and ask, Doug. Definitely no harm in asking.

Just a welt, no punctures?
It does not appear to be a puncture, if it is, it is small. Hard to describe, and my camera won't focus on it for a clear picture. It is red on the interior and then the surrounding area is a circular with w/out any red and then red on the outside portion of the area. To me it appears as if blood vessles were popped, sort of like when we get a blood blister.
I know it was from today b/c I just went over her for ticks. Now did it come from this, I don't know. Maybe a bug bit her, but I sort of doubt it.... but I am not very keen on this stuff.
Ouch!!!! For future reference, just flush the wound well with plain water and apply Neosporin.Originally Posted by YellowLabProject
