DefaultNot lab related (but raw diet related) but still interesting

So as many of you know, I used to own a lab with my ex bf. That's the whole reason I became a member here. Even after my b/f and i broke up (and he got the lab, Apollo) I just loved this site so much I didnt want to leave! lol! Im a pre-vet student and I'd like to emphasis natural diets for dogs, cats, and ferrets once I become a vet. I currently own a cat and a ferret with my new b/f. Both are fed mostly whole prey, but occaisionally I will see some meat on sale and they'll get some raw food.

Here is a video of Zephyr (cat) and Mizu (ferret) eating some porkchops. If you turn up the volume really loud when you see the cat, you can hear her growling over her food!!! Just thought some ppl might find it interesting to see the other two domestic carnivores engaging in natural lifestyle behaviors.

Unlike dogs, both cats and ferrets are obligate carnivores. They lack the ability to digest fruit, veggies, and fiber. They must consume strickly whole animals in order to thrive.

Anywhoo Here is the video. Do any of you have pics/video of your dogs eating a natural diet? I think they would be cool to see!

Uhhhh....yeah.....he would eat the whole thing (AND the cat's food) if I let him! I normally feed him mice/rats. He eats 1-2 mice per day or 1 rat per day. He's still a baby (ferrets are called 'kits' when they are little) so he's growing and needs lots of food. Unlike large breed puppies, ferrets need a fair amount of calcium in their diet as they grow.

Zephyr, the cat is a little brat and will ONLY eat chicks (as her whole prey) but she wont eat raw chicken (or veal) : she will eat raw beef, turkey and pork though. Little brat

Oh and I got your PM. They get along very well together. But this is not at all unusual. Ferrets and cats all over the world get along. See:

    Even... BIG cats!

Just search for "ferret and cat" on you tube and you'll get a ton of videos of cats and ferrets interacting. Many become the best of friends
