    DefaultEVO

I have a GSD that is anorexic. Seriously. He was purchased just before he turned 5 weeks old (we adopted him when he was 1 yr old) and the original owners, while well meaning, had no clue. Not about dogs, what to feed, how to socialize, etc. They fed him hot dogs, bologna, bread, cheese and sometimes hamburger. Riot was a skeleton when we got him.

From the minute we brought him home, he has been a huge challenge to feed. The first thing we did was a complete blood profile including T-4 and TLI. Everything was normal. His stools are generally firm (he is a very nervous, hyper dog and will get stress diarrhea at times.) We have tried literally dozens of dog food brands, added canned, added roasted chicken, fed with no additives. We tried raw for several months, he would eat it for 2 days then refuse to eat for 3-4 days. He is a very thin dog and began to lose weight so we stopped the raw. Once or twice a week, the dogs do get raw meaty bones.

Several days ago I spent over an hour in the feed store looking at dog food. I ended up buying the EVO and so far, HE LOVES IT. I put it down, walk away and he eats like a normal dog. I am so tickled. My only concern is he has had ear infections in the past and the only negative I have seen posted about this food are dogs that get yucky ears after eating this food.

For the people that feed EVO, who has had their dogs develop ear issues? Any other negative effects?

You can't feed it to pups...all dogs should be mature and over 2 years of age.

My Lab could do the chicken and turkey Evo but does great on the red meat forumula. His ears have not been a problem when on Evo.

I didn't and don't have ear problems, but my guys are doing well on Evo. I use the Chicken formula and my sensitive tummy guy is doing well on it.
