    DefaultGreen Tripe -- Oh My!!

All I can say is... I must love my dogs.

This stuff is NASTY. Got it partially thawed and then was trying to chip away at it on the kitchen
cupboard. It got away from me, and pieces flew under the toaster and onto the stove top. Aie Aie!!

Stinks, but honestly not as bad as I thought, kinda like mushy cow pies in a poorly cleaned, poorly ventilated barn

Ruger was standing so close behind me, I almost fell over him.

So tonight they are having some tripe with their beef. And I've got a bit more in the refrig and put the rest
back in the freeze to thaw another day.

AND.. I wiped up my entire kitchen with Clorox.

Linda, I never chip at it! I let mine defrost enough that I can spoon it out and then refreeze. They do love it though! I was wondering if you had gotten it out yet.

I didn't know if I could totally unfreeze it and then refreeze, so I partially unfroze it and cut around the outside of it.

    It's pretty danged disgusting

They are having beef, green tripe and sweet potato tonight.

I think these dogs are a tad spoiled

Ooooh, I just bought some for Henry today!!! It's defrosting in the fridge as we speak. I was warned that it would be STINKY!!

How often do you give tripe?? (and how much?)

Susan (Caleb) gives it daily, about 3 tablespoons full. I'll give it a couple times a week until I run out and then I don't know if I'll give it again as I don't have it readily available here.

    It is STINKY... prepare yourself

Ladies, where do you buy it? I have not found it yet. I don't know how I will justify to my husband that the dog will eat green tripe at home, and he is not allowed to cook mexican sausage as the smell makes me sick. ;D

I carry it at my building (I own an obedience training center).

Do you carry it canned? - I am trying to figure where to get it. I live in Chicago, and have not found a holistic store with various choices of food, books, etc.

Mine's frozen too, from the same supplier has Henry's raw. I've seen it in cans though...

No, I carry frozen tripe. There are a few vendors around that carry it. You can get it shipped from Hare Today.
