    DefaultRaw and Cooked

I know you shouldn't feed Raw and kibble together, but what about Raw and cooked food. I had RAW beef for my dogs tonight, but realized it was not quite enough. I had leftover chicken in the fridge (I cooked it Monday) and added some of that to it (no bones, I know not to give cooked bones). Just wondering if there would be a reason not to feed raw meat and cooked meat.

The only thing against cooked meat is that some of the good amino acids, etc. are destroyed in cooking. I have supplimented Caleb's breakfast or dinner with leftover meat. Not a big deal. Remember, it is the over all diet they receive.

Thanks Susan. I didn't think it would hurt. I just needed a bit more meat to fill them up

I mix raw with cooked food all the time. It is a great way of using up leftovers. I don't care if it doesn't follow the "raw" way -- feed what works!

I would think cooked meat is probably digested at a similar rate to raw meat and therefore just fine to feed together. That's the reason you don't mix kibble and raw.. cause of the digestion rate.

    I feed both.

Ernie also helps himself to both. As well as chook food and often gets into the parrot food.

Not to hijack this thread ;D but is it ok to feed kibble at one meal and raw at another? I think that it is, but this thread made me second guess that ...

Yep. This is what I do. I like the convenience of kibble so I don't see myself going all raw in the future.
