Can they eat something that has been cooked and something raw in the same meal. I just fed them dinner of chicken liver (which I simmering in a pan yesterday) green beans and raw eggs.
They both loved it
It should be fine.
I do that with Cassie at dinner. She gets chicken necks, backs or whatever I'm serving that time, and I add in lightly cooked vegees (because she won't eat raw ones). I also add cooked chicken livers from time to time (usually on hand for the chicken liver cookies I make), or bits of whatever meat I'm eating for dinner. No cooked bones, though.
Thanks for the info. They really enjoyed that slimy raw egg
Linda, cooked and raw in the same meal is okay - although I avoid giving raw meat and kibble together. I will tell you that my holistic vet suggested that I boil eggs for five minutes before feeding them to the dogs. She says that raw eggs can harbor lots of bacteria in the shell and that a five minute boil will take care of that.
Ooooh, have we converted another??
Lucky Magnum and Ruger! Henry played with his raw egg (in the shell) before finally eating it, then promptly threw it up a half hour later. Yech.
I've heard that if you feed raw egg, make sure it's organic. Otherwise, a light boil.
I do with Ernie.
In fact some days his meal could be.
Veges, meat, left overs from the fridge, included pasta sauce, pineapple ( stop eating his own his poop), rice pudding, salmon and any other bit of food edible for a hungy Lab. then a sprinkling of Glucosamine on top.Looks and smells disgusting. he loves it.
Well, now you tell me. I just cracked the egg and fed it to them raw.. I didn't give them the shell.
So, you boil it in the shell??
You don't have to feed the shell. I don't usually. You don't have to boil the eggs either.
I boil the egg in the shell and feed it to them shell and all. The shell is a good source of calcium.
