DefaultReading and site recommendations and questions?

What are your recomendations for learning about raw/natural diets?

I'd love to work toward that with my kids. I have almost unlimited acess to free ducks, chickens, pheasants and venison. However I am a rather lazy person so would have to have kibble as a option when I am so short on time, forget to thaw etc.

Is a kibble combined with raw/natural diet o.k.?

If I start on some of this, would necks be a place to start (I have a dozen debreasted duck carcasses in the back of my truck as I type this).

    Firstly... LUCKY!

Secondly... kibble/raw is fine though it is commonly suggested that you don't give both in the same meal as kibble and raw are digested differently. Many people go half and feed one meal kibble and one meal raw.

We're gonna have to pool our resources and start a thread of reading material. Most of my links are at home so I'm gonna have to do that some night I'm not lazy.

Makes sense. So far, the kids LOVE when I butcher deer and toss trimmings and bones their way.

This site is a good reference:

    www.rawlearning.com

Have a read through the FAQ.

Yes! this is what I do. I am also lazy and I don't have the stomach for preparing raw early in the mornings.

Necks are great. If your dogs have no digestive issues you can try feeding just about anything.

First of all, I love feeding the raw diet. Can't imagine not anymore. One site that has good info and has good product is Hare-Today.www.hare-today.com

Forgot to mention that I do feed Innova's Evo Red Meat when we travel and I can't take the raw with me.
