    Defaultblue buffalo?

I have been reading a lot of complaints of Blue Buffalo and how it is making dogs sick. Is anyone experiencing this? My 7 year old lab doesn't seem to be having any and my 7month old lab loves it.

I bought a bag of Blue Buffalo (had a coupon) prior to getting my puppy. His breeder had been feeding him Blue Seal so I kept him on that and have tried giving him very very small portions of the Blue Buffalo mixed in to try and wean him over to it. First time he wound up with very soft stools, almost diarhhea, so I stopped but wasn't sure if it was the Blue Buffalo or if it was some of the treats I had given him while potty training him. Since then I have given the treats with no problems, but tried the Blue Buffalo again. And got the almost diarhhea again. So I'm not going to switch him over.

My cat loves it, she tore a hole in the bag to get at it. Maybe I'll feed it to her : )

I almost get the idea there is a smear campaign against Blue Buffalo. If you look on certain websites you will find tons of negative info from people who don't seem to contribute much else. They really did turn a lot of people off with the whole vitamin D thing recently, and I think that has a lot to do with it. I like their Wilderness line and was thinking of trying some of the puppy formula for Molly...it's ingredients are very similar to other higher end grain free foods...

When my son managed a pet food/supply store they would occasionaly throw small bags of Blue Buffalo out in the back to feed the strays and birds. He said months and months later the "blue" pieces of the food still would not be broken down regardless of the weather conditions or time of year. The stray animals would also leave them behind. Kinda makes you wonder...
Definitely not a food I would feed.

My dog don't do well on it. I've tried a bunch of the flavors and varieties, and it never sat well. The regular versions (with grain) are really just too low in protein/fat for labs anyway, so why feed them?

This is not part of ANY "smear" campaign, it is simply fact.

I tried my pups on it, and they had diarrhea bad...had to use a spatula to get it off the floor.

Yes, it's so bad even the strays won't eat it! Haha.

One of my managers has 2 beautiful labs that have grown up on and still only eat BB. It's a very popular food here in Connecticut...it must work for a decent percentage of dogs around here!
