All I know is not too often due to mercury content, which is higher in carnivorous fish such as swordfish. I always wondered about olive oil though.

cooked fish once in awhile is a nice treat. Salmon is awesome, leave the skin on - they love that, but as with any "extras" moderation is key.

Olive oil is fine for dogs, just not too much in case it causes loose stool. I give mine the skin that I trim off the raw salmon before I cook it. My dogs are used to eating raw meat though. Just introduce a little at a time.

Just a reminder that Pacific salmonids can have parasite, Nanophyetus salmincola, (also called "flukes") that are lethal to dogs, so cook your Pacific Salmon before feeding any to your dogs.

i read somewhere its not recomended to give your dog raw meat . maybe its ok with fish but the article was about meat. because it makes them crave the meat and some breeds of dogs are more likly to want it more then there regular food.
i think in general it is a good idea to give them there regular food so they wont get used to other stuff.

also..its not good for their teeth. thats what i heard.
