Hi all lab lovers.
Hope you guys can help?
1. When is it okay to leave your lab alone at home (what age). Huxley stays with my parents during the day but sooner or later he will have to learn to stay at home while I’m at work.
2. Whats the best way to feed your dog, if he is going to be home alone. How do you manage his food for the day
They can stay home alone from the time you bring them home as puppies, provided they are properly confined (in a crate). If you're gone during the day, feed them in the morning and then again in the evening.
Baloo - 5 year old black lab
Peanut - 7 year old minpin
Monster - 3-ish year old frenchie/jack, rescue
Agreed, also Labradors love to sleep. They will sleep all day while you are at work.Originally Posted by Baloo317

No, keep the door to the crate shut. Unless you have the puppy confined in a room that is completely, 100% puppy proof, shutting the door of the crate is recommended.
If it is a young pup I always build something simular to this but on a mcuh larger scale.
We put in a box with litter/shavings for them to use to go potty.
Found this on an image search.
I do not leave food down, just water.
If it is an older puppy I would just simply crate it.
