    DefaultFinding calories per cup

Where on the bag of dog food does one find the calories per cup?

I have recently switched Belle and Kodi to different foods (from Pro Plan) and while their issues went away (flaky coat and bad ears in Belle's case, and itchy feet and bad ears in Kodi's case), it seems that they are loosing weight (I keep my dogs skinny to start with).

Now that I am trying to deal with an obese dog (Buddy, now only about 40 pounds overweight), I am trying to figure out whether to switch his food (also has flaky skin), feed him less, or what.

Do I have to go to the various web sites?

I am currently feeding Eagle Pack Holistics (to Belle), Wellness Core (to Kodi)...both Chicken formulas, and Pro Plan Chicken and rice (to Hoss, but WILL switch once the shredded crap hits the stores around here...will be soon I gather)

I usually look on the website, Karen. My dogs lost a lot of weight when I fed Eagle. I had to feed more of it.

    Thanks Laura,

Belle was the one I was most concerned with, just 'cause of her age. Little Miss Good Body (Kodi) is just a pretty active dog, and I am not feeding as many training treats as I did before we started to seriously compete (dang I wish I could give treats in the competition ring!!)

Karen, this is what I've been able to find:

Eagle Pack Holistic Select Chicken Meal and Rice: 386 kcal/cup

    Wellness Core: 430 kcal/cup

    ProPlan Chicken & Rice: 489 kcal/cup

So you'd need to feed more Eagle Pack and Wellness in order to equal the amount of kcal/day they were getting on PP since PP was the most nutrient-dense kibble you were feeding.

Calorie dense, maybe, but nutrient? Lots of fillers in PP.
