DefaultOMG, Lexie sprayed by skunk, help!!

(Also posted in Lab Chat) Holicow, I let Lexie out into the fenced yard to potty tonight and she ran off around the corner of the house. I stood in the doorway (it is raining) and waited for her to come back. Then I saw the skunk about 10 feet in front of me. About that same time Lexie came bounding back towards me. I yelled for her to come, but then she spotted the skunk and despite my screams of "Lexie No!" she ran right for it. It sprayed her right in the face and she is foaming at the mouth. It is still in my yard, she is in the basement, grandma is babysitting my daughter and I had to go to work...

Now what should I do?? The smell as you might imagine, is horrible! My BF is out of town all weekend, and my 3 month old daughter and I have to sleep in the house we can't have Lexie aka skunk face smellin up the place! Ahh!

Tomato juice does work - there are specific products you can get from a pet store that work better - but if all you have to shop at is a grocery store - get 3-4 big cans of any kind of tomato juice and cover the dog in it. Let it sit and then rinse it off. Then bathe her in dog shampoo.

1 quart 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap or dish detergent
Mix these together and bathe ("shampoo" in or rub down) the spray victim thoroughly.
Be sure to use this mixture immediately after it is created, as it is unstable.
Rinse with tap water afterward, and repeat if necessary.
For spray in the eyes, flush with water as soon as possible.
