    Does anyone give their labs vit c supplements and if so are chewables ok?

    If you google vitamins essential for dogs you'll end up with several references such as this

    which says Vitamin C is not essential for dogs, they make their own.

    If you're feeding a good food, that would have the essentials.

    Yes, I had read that article..my 10 month old has had a recurrence of cystitis and I was recommended to use vit c as a supplement

    Have you tried cranberry capsules? Vitamin C can be tricky. Don't give Ester-C in young dogs because of the calcium. Does your dog have an INNIE OR AN OUTIE? If female, that is. My dog gets vitamin C, but I just throw the pill on his food and he eats it. He also gets cranberry capsules, same thing, just toss it on his food and he eats it.
