Defaultneed help with my 9 year old black lab eating

Hello, my 9 year old black lab that we got from my dad is adjusting here ok, but with eating he always acts like he is hungry. I feed him almost 1 1/2 cups to 2 in the morning and at night, and after a few hours he is constantly going to his dish. He is on the pedigree adult brand. Also when he is running around outside he falls to the ground and then pants real hard or sounds like heavy breathing. Thanks chaley

He need to be seen by a vet. Falling to the ground is not normal and sounds like a heart problem.

Looking for more food is totally normal, but that falling down is NOT normal. Please have him checked out by a vet. What kind of shape is he in? If he is very overweight and out of shape, running in the heat could give him heatstroke.

Definitely needs to be seen by a vet. The food issue might be that the food doesn't give him what he needs. Maybe switch to a better brand. 4 cups of Pedigree is probably not enough for many male dogs. 4 cups of something like ProPlan or Iams would be better since they are better quality foods than Pedigree.

Before you do anything, the dog should be seen by your vet. For the heart and also maybe have a stool sample checked for parasites.

I'd also have him tested for EIC (exercise induced collapse) while you're at the vet.

And I second the recommendation to switch him to a higher quality food.
