DefaultTopical Heartworm Meds and Water Work?

Does anyone know the recomendation for how long should you hold a dog out of water work after applying a topical heartworm preventative like Revolution? I don't have the package handy.

    Thanks!

    Mark, I *think* it's 24 hours...

I found this statement on-line, but cannot believe they are serious about "2 hours":

"For your convenience, Revolution is quick drying, nongreasy and water fast so you can cuddle and play with your pet sooner than many other topical treatments will allow. As soon as two hours after revolution is applied it is considered water resistant, remaining effective through the month even with moderate shampooing, swimming, rain or exposure to sunlight."

I have been waiting 48 hours, but wondered if that was overkill.

    From Pfizer website:

"Studies show that Revolution is effective even if you bathe your dog two hours after applying."

Seems like heavy water work and a quicky bath are 2 different ends of the spectrum. So, I still dunno.

When Henery was on Revolution, I think it was our vet that told us 24 hours... I dunno about 2 hours and then prolonged water exposure...

I interrogated my vet (who runs FT dogs and uses a topical, too) and he swears the "2 hour" period is legit, and after that you can put them in the water. I am still gonna wait 24. EM heartworm test yesterday (every 6 months) was negative.
