Abbys usual food is royal canine for labs. She was on it for 3 years. Just read it does not have good reviews. chicken soup does have good reviews. Is it high in fat? What do you feed your labs? Abby is going off her bland diet soon as she had a pancreatis spell. I need something low in fat. Thanks
I wouldn't normally say switch a food because of bad reviews or good reviews. If it works for your dog, who cares about reviews.
However, the pancreatitis changes things. I would maybe think of a senior food which are normally lower in fat than regular dog foods.
My dogs are fed ProPlan.

I feed Tucker Royal Canin Duck and Potato...he has A LOT of allergies and this is the BEST food for him...I can only get it at the vet and I know people are often skeptical over foods you can only get at the vet, but I have tried literally every food on the market (sorry, I am too lazy to do the raw diet...I eat cereal for dinner because I am too lazy to cook, I am not about to "prepare" Tucker's food)
As of the beginning of March, I have been feeding Natural Balance. Unfortunately, Caleb has a beef allergy, so Pro Plan is out, even the Selects (they have animal fat). Our neighbor's Beagle has pancreatitis. The only food she can eat is Pro Plan Chicken and Rice.
We just finished switching Leonidas to Blue Buffalo and he has done well with it. Don't know about the fat content though.
I would guestimate that 80% of serious HT/FT guys feed either Euk Sporting or Pro Plan Performance. That "web site" everyone talks about gives each of them crummy reviews. If your dog is doing well on a feed, I would keep them on it. I feed Euk Sporting. Mine gets the itchy feet on ProPlan, which is a bummer, since I get so much of it as freebies at HT's. It goes to the shelter now for those dogs, and they like it!

I feed my dogs the Wellness Grain Free food. They absolutely love it!
I feed Pro Plan. Some get Performance, some get Selects, and the babies will be getting Puppy in a couple of weeks
