Baloo seems to be losing pigment in his nose. It started as just a tiny little line and it seems to be spreading ever so slowly.
He has never eaten/drank out of plastic or rubber, his bowls are stainless steel, could that contribute/cause the problem?
What could be going on, should I be worried? Has anyone heard of this happening before..?
Here's the pictures of what it looks like:
Thats probably a good idea, eh?Originally Posted by luvmydogz2much

Pictures added in OP.
Could he have scratched himself there, Kate? It looks kinda scar-ish to me?
No, it's actually gotten much larger since I first noticed it. It kinda started just in that centre fold part and seems to be slowly creeping out farther and farther.
Hmm... I've got a Sharpie marker you can borrow...?
Does he have any pink spots on his lips, inside or out?n If it continues to spread, I'd personally make an appt with a dermatologist. I had a dog who had an immune issue (possibly vitiligo) and lost all of her nose pigment. I wouldn't freak out quite yet though.
The insides of his lips are kinda splotchy pink/black, but they always have been.... I'm pretty sure.... He goes in for his heartworm test and whatnot soon so I'll have the vet look at it.Originally Posted by JacksAndLabs
I would agree with Nicole and have it looked at by a dermatologist. Its unusual for a black to lose pigment.
