I just noticed Dale's front bottom tooth, one of his small teeth is split in 2. Its split sideways so that the front of the tooth is broken from the back part of the tooth however both pieces of the tooth still remained attached to the gum.

I have no idea how he did this....and the only thing hes eaten today so far is chicken breast.

What do I do? Does he have to go to the vet?

It's probably best to see your vet and be prepared for its removal. I had one break an upper incisor in November-- off at the gumline. I've been watching it but am thinking she may have to have the root removed.

one of ginger's upper incisors broke (putting up the car window) this past friday and tuesday it was removed. i would bring him to the vet because if it gets infected it could become worse.

not sure what it will cost for you but the actual removal was $171.50 and the examination plus antibiotics on friday was $94.

they put ginger under. she was more alert when i picked her up than for her spay. she was pulling the vet tech down the hall! the first night she couldn't get comfortable but the next day she was back to chewing her nylabones. oh it also bled a little the first night but not a lot.

Sounds like they may have used the reversable stuff. It's great! I use it for all the OFA hip/elbow films and my dogs are in and out w/in an hour. It's also very reasonable, and very safe!!!
