Defaultsafety of feeding a fish only protein diet

This post is from the middle of my previous post on the Eagle Pack fish diet.
I didn't want it to get lost in the post and not get answered so I have decided to start it up on its on.

    Here is my concern:

We have heard of some concerns of feeding your dog a fish diet long term with all the risks of heavy metals in fish.

Should I be concerned about feeding a 6 yr old lab a fish diet ie Eagle pack salmon, anchovy and sardine long term. The fish is probably farmed by source.

Even though the diet seems to be working, am I replacing one problem for another long term which could be worse than the original allergies.

Any thought on this, I am confused as to what to do.
    Thanks.

    Any ideas on this???
    Thanks.

There can be problems feeding any food. There can be hormones in chicken or lamb. Heavy metals in fish. Etc.

I choose not to worry about such things as much as some people might. If the dogs are doing well on it, feed it and then try not to think or worry about the other stuff.

Thanks Labby, that is true too.

I didn't think too much about the possible hormones in the chicken or lamb diets as well. It was someone who we were talking to mentioned all this talk about metals in fish and how people shouldn't eat too much on a daily basis and I thought I my what about the dog!!

It was working for her allergy wise.

    Thanks.

If it was helping with the allergies, I'd take a deep breath and relax.
