    DefaultPuppy teething question

    Hi all,

Well Gauge is 5 1/2 months old and has gotten rid of all his puppy teeth except the top two fangs. But his baby fangs are not even loose at this point. On the bottom, his adult fangs came up right underneath his baby fangs and had no problems becoming loose and falling out.

Just wondering if any of you have experience with this...I am wondering at what point, if at all, he will need to go to the vet.

    Here's a pic

Play tug with him this weekend. If you don't get them loosened enough to fall out, then make an appointment with the vet for removal on Monday. Jake's were like that. I played with him all weekend and they were all out by the end of the weekend.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was just playing tug with Gauge and accidently tugged to hard kind of at the wrong angle I guess...ripped out one of the fangs. I know, this probably wasn't good, but I wasn't actually trying to rip it out!! Oops! I hope everything will be ok though. I will be more careful with the other one.

Thanks again for the tip labby

Lots of tough chew toys help, too. Those adult teeth look like they're just barely coming in? You have a little while before you have to get worried about retained baby (deciduous) teeth...

Baloo's hung on forever. I checked a million times a day, cause i wanted one of those baby canines SO bad.... but he swallowed them before I got there. :'( :-\

I wouldn't be worried at this point.

Generally they start at about 4 months.
