DefaultCorona is licking her paw constantly! help!

??? woke up this morning to Corona licking her paw like crazy. When she went to bed with us last night she was fine. I had to put her in the crate about midnight b/c she was chewing the covers. (she does that when she is really tired) woke up this morning and she was licking her paw in the crate, then she sat in the hall way while I was getting ready doing the same. She let me look at it. I looked between her toes and her pads, they were fine. I tried to see if I could see a cut under her fur on her toes where she was licking but didn't see anything. She walks on it normal as well. Could it be anything else?

what are you feeding her? how old? She could be developing allergies...or just really dry skin.

She will be 2 in April. We have been feeding her purina. We actually just bought a new bag Thursday night.

This isn't a 100% guaranteed rule, but usually itchy and red paws are a sign of environmental allergies. Food allergies tend to manifest themselves more in the digestive system and ears. Again, you can't go by that alone, but it's a useful starting point. Also, environmental allergies are MUCH more common than food allergies, so that would be my starting point. But, like Dani alluded to, if they're going to have food allergies this is about the time they normally develop them.

Another possibility is that it may not be allergies (especially if you looked at the paw and its not red). It could be a nervous habit or something else. If this continues I'd take her to the vet to get checked out medically.

If it was just that one paw I would tend to think she had something in it or a cut or something that was bothering her. Allergies are a possibility but I would think it would affect the other paws as well. At least with my sisters dog it did.
