    DefaultRaw Diet Training Treats

If a raw diet is fed, what would the training treats be?

    Thanks,

Can you get a food dehydrator and dry some of the foods you use for your dog? Or possibly microwave and then blot dry with a paper towel when putting things in your pocket? Not exactly "raw" but not a processed treat, either.

    Doug,

Dehydrated liver and other meats are good as californialablover suggested. Better would be frozen chopped liver or other meats.

    Thanks for your reply
I can try whatever, but the thing w/ treats is I am going to clicker train which looks like a lot of little hits. So I really would like to avoid having too much preperation time for the treats. Hoping of using something agreeable w/ Raw, does not conflict....
Also- this is a first for me, so cooking and using a dehydrator is like you want me to do what with that, and what am I supposed to put in there.... really, I am being totally serious. When it comes to kitchen stuff- I am clueless- give me the woodshop anytime and I can dance in there and make beautiful dust... ;D

I'd probably just use dehydrated/freeze-dried liver and the like (you can buy freeze-dried liver/chicken/salmon at pet stores )

That way it's still just a single ingredient, but you can break it into little bitty pieces easily for lots of "hits".

They'll have some more in-depth ideas about raw-feeding, raw treats, etc etc.

Re: Freeze dried -- Booth Feeds has it -- or used to anyway. Weber's carries the salmon ones -- the name escapes me but it's right in the front section of the store in a light blue bag (yeah, big help i know). Not cheap!
