My lab has stopped eating her breakfast, and has barely touched her dinner in the past couple of days. She will eat treats (I only give her 2 a day) and she still tries to get my food when I eat....she acts normally, plays, retrieves still etc
This has been going on for a couple of days....my lab mix eats his food though, but he'll eat ANYthing
maybe my lab is just getting sick of her food? should I try switching? Right now she eats Nutro for large breed (lamb & rice)....she's 2.5yrs and she's been eating it since she's a pup...
I mean, I would get sick of the same food, but is this normal?
- is it a new bag?
- how are her poops? (any change in smell or texture or frequency)
- has she had the chance to eat anything else? poo, snow (that may have appeared clean), anything outside, anything inside even?
the food might be a symptom and not the cause of her problems.

Does the other dog eat the same food?
It's highly unlikley that they get tired of it something is wrong either with the food its self or she's not feeling well. If she's spunky otherwise and wanting to eat and her stool is normal I would try getting a different bag of food some type different lot numbers and try it. Also if the food is old it may be stale and she doesn't want to eat it.

hmmm...didn't think about the staleness factor or different lot numbers, good ideas!
No, its not a new bag, her poops are a little runny, and she has had some more gas than usual
yeah the other dog eats the food still, but he would eat ANYTHING...she is slightly more picky than he is
I will try getting a different bag...the container that holds their bag of food, the lid got distorted so it probably isn't as fresh as it normally is, so yeah, maybe that's it...I will try a new bag, thanks!
is the runny poop thing new?
she may have a bug as well

a stomach bug that will go away, or something that needs to be treated by the vet??
My lab just snapped at our mix....like literally snapped at him and almost bit his face....she is always docile and tolerates A LOT from him....
could this be something worse? Should I try and make an appt w/my vet or wait a couple of days?
Ok, I just made an appt w/the vet for today, 4pm....
of course my husband got irritated again...in the past year we've prob spent about $5000 on the dogs...esp because one has seizures and has this rare disease
I swear, it doesn't help when my husband gets irritated about this stuff....I don't like spending the money on this stuff, but what else are we going to do, we have to take care of them....I guess its just been a constant thing this year with them, they both also got kennel cough when we were out of the country
I was going to say maybe the food might have gotten stale. But then I saw you posted about the change in behavior. I would definately get her checked by the vet. I hope it is nothing serious. Maybe she has a stomach bug & isn't feeling 100% Please let us know what the vet says.
Back from the vet....they drew blood, checked her urine, her vitals etc....nothing is wrong!
So $200 later, we're just going to get a new bag of food.....
if it continues, then we should go back, but pretty much nothing......
I guess no news is better than bad news :
