Not sure how to take dog temp or what "normal" is. Suggestions?
It's not the destination, it's the journey!
I use an inexpensive digital thermometer, lube it up with Vaseline and stick it in his butt. With the digital thermometers, you don't need to wait 3 minutes.
TAKING DOG'S TEMPERATURE
He has his own thermometer.
I have a digital themometer for the girls. I lube it up with K-Y & put it in. Of course I must have a treat handy. The digital works fast. Normal temp.: 101 - 102.5
Make sure you hold onto it the entire time (like you would with a baby).

Some dogs have lower temps than others. Usually the veterinary references state 100.5 degrees F to 102.5 degrees F. Sometimes significant stress, activity, and so forth can cause it to elevate but not usually over 103.5.
