    Defaultim new

Hello all! Zues and myself are new to this forum. We have been reading alot of the different threads here and i must say there is some very helpful tips. Zues is a very energetic 6month old lab. He is my first official dog. I grew up with my parents and grandparents having labs so i have seen many different aproaches to a dogs upbringing and training as well as diet. I am grateful to all the knowledge ive read so far and hope maybe one day i can contribute to some as well. Thank u !!

    Welcome!!

This is a great forum which offers a great deal of helpful information (and sometimes unhelpful misinformation) posted by knowledgable (as well as misinformed) people.

There are also some issues on which there is no scientific consensus as to which is the better way.

Unfortunately, none of the posts come with tags on them identifying which are the better to follow or which to ignore.

On health and nutrition matters, I find Giffin & Carlson's "Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook" (about $25 from Amazon) useful. Using that as a base and the comments as a supplement can be very helpful.

On training matters, I like Donaldson's "Culture Clash" (paperback, maybe $15?).
