    Defaultlitter of pups are lost

I've been waiting on the birth of a litter due this wknd past, for a pup. Bitch is 2 yrs, plus and her first litter (by AI). The breeder said she started showing signs of whelp Fri. pm but no contractions. He walked he and did what he could do, still no contractions so took her to Vet's. Vet gave her pitosin, still no movement so they decided on C-Section. 4 full term pups all on one horn. Pups were born alive but didn't make it through the nite.
Anyone have any thoughts on what could have gone wrong?
I'm heartbroken, as is the breeder.

I am very sorry for the loss of the pups, several things could have gone wrong, and I won't speculate.

Some things just aren't meant to be.

    Breeding is sometimes a heartbreak.

I'm so sorry. I know how much I worried that something like that would happen when I was waiting for Baloo to be born.

Sorry to hear of the loss. It happens, and sometimes it just can't be determined exactly what happened.

My condolences. How close was she to her due date? It could be due to many things including overweight/underconditioning of bitch, dietary excess of calcium, premature progesterone drop, etc.. Please tell her there is a canine repro chat list if she's interested. Google Myra Savant Harris and join there.

Thanks everyone. Helps to know that there are people who care.
I don't want to come across as a whiner or selfish but for over a year
I've waited on 3 litters from 2 different breeders and no puppy. The 1st 2
were same Mom & Sire, AI, false pregnancies both times. The 2nd one , the
subject of this post. I know things happen but my 'biological puppy clock' is
    ticking away. Just getting frustrated.
How close was she to her due date?
She was right on her due date.

I'm so sorry for your frustration

having never had the chance to choose a dog as an adult (they always seem to choose us) I was just thinking for the first time in YEARS this morning what kind of dog(s) I'd pick

perhaps I'll leave things just the way they are around here

    hang in there

    it will happen
