I swear by that purple stuff. Bella's ear was a mess about a month ago.
Normally to take them in for a yucky ear it cost me almost $100.
$40 just for the office visit to tell me what I already know. :
I just start using the purple stuff now and it clears right up.
I'll never go to the vet again for yucky ears. ;D
Thanks for the info on the Otomax. We have used it on Dixie in the past, but the last time her ears got gunky we used the purple stuff.
I was wondering.....what is the shelf life of the purple stuff once mixed? Does anyone know?
I have been using otomox for years and have never ever heard that it can cause deafness.
It is not possible to hit a dogs ear drum with the applicator. A dogs ear canal is shaped like an L so there is no way to reach the drum.
Here is a link with a diagram - scroll all the way down.
I have used Otomax on one of my dogs for years and though I heard this could happen, it certainly has not to her.
The ole fart can hear a piece of kibble drop on the kitchen floor from outside with the windows shut LOL
